Faith in God has distinct 3 aspects or components that work together as one.
What is Faith? Faith is the confidence in what we hope for - the assurance of things we cannot see (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is the complete conviction or confidence that something exists, or that something will occur.
We have faith in God as a creator and sustainer as he created this world (Genesis 1:1). We also have faith that God will bring to pass all the promises contained in his word (2 Peter 1:3).
Faith needs a vision
Faith needs a vision, just like vision needs faith. Without a clear target, faith can't work as it should. Faith needs a clear vision or target to hit. It needs a direction to move in order to arrive at its desired destination! Faith doesn't work when we have no particular picture or goal in mind.
So where do we get this vision? We get it from the Word of God, which in turn brings us to the faith level that God can respond to. The Bible boldly declares that if we believe what is written in His word (Romans 10:17; Ephesians 2:8), then we will receive what He has promised.
“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him." - 1 John 5:14-15
Faith needs an anchor
Faith in the integrity of God is an anchor. Faith is what you lay hold on, staying steadfast in your resolve to God and your resolution not to give up at let go of the promise in the face of storms, challenges, obstacles of life.
"We have this Hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." - Hebrews 6:19
Your soul needs to be anchored to Him because it is constantly under attack from the enemy with thoughts, lies and fears. You need to be equipped with the full amour of God to resist the attacks of the enemy.
Without union in Christ, there is no faith. Jesus said, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." ( John 15:7). Now that's Faith!
Divine connection to this unbreakable anchor can only happen when we know who He is and put our trust exclusively in Him!
Faith needs action
"So then faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead." - James 2:17
Faith without works is dead. It can't work by itself, but needs action to work. Faith is bold in the face of circumstances. Faith speaks God's Word into the impossibility and says to the mountain "Be cast into the sea" and it shall be done.
Faith is not egocentric or arrogant in nature; rather, it's demonstrated by the acts of somebody fully convinced and persuaded in the integrity of God and His word, and steps out in obedience.
Remember, Faith is not blind!
The Bible says, "Now the just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:17). Faith says in the presence of circumstances, 'I know who He is and I will not be moved.' It's means walking by faith as an exercise of obedience and demonstration. Faith is not blind, it sees the end from the beginning. It's the means to see things that are not yet seen (2 Corinthians 4:18). It is what we exercise when everything around us says it's impossible.
Have Faith in God and it will change your life forever!
